Ralph Hepplewhite

Ralph Hepplewhite was a professional rower, living at Dunston. His father, John Hepplewhite, had a house on the south bank of the Tyne at Dunston and that house was occasionally used as a finishing point for professional races.

8th August Bell's Life reported: We understand that matches are in contemplation between Appelby of Sunderland and Hornaby of Gateshead and H. Kimpster of Sunderland and young Hepplewhite of Dunston, both of which in all probability will shortly be ratified.
