The Ladies Plate was superb three-handled silver trophy competed for at Tyne Regatta by maiden or novice fours. The trophy was stolen from Bede College (that year's winners) in the 1980s and was never recovered. This led to the cessation of the practice of giving out trophies "on trust" to be returned to the regatta the following year.
