The Tweed Amateur Rowing Club existed at Berwick - it is unclear whether this was a separate club to Berwick ARC (formed 1869) or whether the names of the two clubs were changed or merged at some point. There is a record of a well-attended regatta in 1877 hosted by the Tweed A.R.C. and Bell's Life (28th July 1877) reported:
