[[Ebchester Rowing Club]] rowed on the River Derwent.  They were elected to the membership of the Northern Amateur Rowing Council at the AGM on 2nd March 1940.

Tully, president of the club, who spoke of Mr. Vereker’s generous support. The club had purchased the land surrounding the boathouse at Ebchester.<br>
